FULL RULES
The complete rules, exactly as the site runs them. Test networks may use shorter times.
THE CHALLENGE
Launch a coin here (or use one you already launched) and throw down a challenge. You pick how long the duel lasts: any whole number of hours from 1 to 48 (24 to start with). The clock starts when someone accepts.
- Open to anyone: any other launcher can accept, with a new coin or one they already launched.
- Call out a coin: only that coin can accept, by its launcher or by its holders voting. Any coin that isn't paying tribute can be called out.
- Call out a wallet: only that wallet can accept, with any coin it launched here.
- A challenge nobody accepts within 24 hours closes (see below for where its fees go).
WHERE THE FEES GO
Every trade on pump.fun pays the coin's creator a small fee. For coins launched here, that fee comes to Aura Wars and is split:
- 80% goes to the coin's duel pot or a holders' pot (next section).
- 15% buys back and burns $WARS, once $WARS launches.
- 5% goes to the platform.
WHERE THE 80% GOES
- In a duel, or with a challenge open: the duel's pot.
- Lost a duel: the winner's holders' pot, as tribute, until it wins a rematch.
- Won, and not fighting: its own holders' pot.
- Nobody accepted its challenge within 24 hours: its own holders' pot, including what it had put in the duel's pot.
HOW THE WINNER IS DECIDED
During the duel, both coins' market caps are read from pump.fun at random moments, about every 5 minutes. The winner is the coin with the higher average market cap over the whole duel. Because it's an average, a last-minute pump barely moves it.
- Exactly level: a draw. No tribute, and each side's share of the pot goes to its own holders.
- A missing reading never causes a draw: if none was taken during a duel, one taken when it ends decides it.
WHO GETS PAID
The pot goes to the winning coin's holders in SOL. Your share depends on how much you held and for how long, across the whole duel: holding from the start earns a full share, buying halfway earns about half, and a last-minute buy earns almost nothing.
- Not paid: pump.fun's own trading accounts and Aura Wars' accounts. Launchers are paid like any holder.
- Holdings worth less than about $0.50 (test network; $20 on the real site) aren't paid; everyone else shares the pot.
CLAIMING
When a duel ends, claim your share on the duel page or your profile. You pay the small network fee. Claims are open for 30 days; anything left after that goes to the winning coin's holders' pot.
HOLDERS' POTS
Every coin has a holders' pot, paid to its holders in SOL every hour. It collects tribute from the coins it beat, its own fees while it isn't fighting, its share of a drawn duel, and duel winnings nobody claimed.
- Each payout is shared by how much you held during that hour, with the same rules as duel pots. Tiny amounts roll into the next hour.
- Earnings add up. One claim collects everything you've earned from that coin, and it never expires.
TRIBUTE AND REMATCHES
- A coin paying tribute can only fight the coin it pays, in a rematch, so it can't escape by picking a new fight.
- Winners can take on new challengers with the same coin and collect tribute from many coins. Each new duel has its own pot, filled only by fees during that duel.
- Conquest: when a coin collecting tribute loses, every coin paying it now pays the winner too. Its holders keep what they already earned. Rematches work the same way.
- The losing coin's side can call a rematch. The winner has 48 hours of being free to accept; if it doesn’t, the call lapses and the tribute carries on (the loser can call again). During a rematch the tribute pauses. Win it and the tribute flips; lose or draw it and it carries on.
- A coin is in one duel at a time, and a wallet can have 1 live duel at a time.
HOLDER VOTES
Holders can make their coin's next move without its launcher: throw down a new challenge, accept one, call a rematch, or accept one. Any holder can propose, and voting is free (you sign a message in your wallet).
- Your vote counts by how much you held in the 24 hours before the vote started, so buying in to swing it doesn't work.
- A vote passes as soon as 20% of holders' votes say yes and yes is ahead of no. Otherwise it closes after 6 hours.
- Once it passes, the platform makes the move for the coin, under the same rules as the launcher. Every vote and result is published.
FAIR PLAY
- Each launcher can buy at most 3% of their own coin at launch. After that, anyone can buy like everyone else.
- Launcher wallets are shown on every duel page.
WHAT THE PLATFORM CAN DO
- It reads market caps, collects fees, pays out pots and carries out passed holder votes. It can't move SOL anywhere these rules don't allow, and can't change a result.
- It can change these rules for future duels (a duel keeps the rules it started with) and upgrade the program.
- pump.fun can hand a coin to its community through a takeover, and nothing can prevent it. Fees already collected stay here; if it happens, the coin is flagged and its fees are held.
